You command spaceships of different sizes on a circular board with black holes. Moves involve picking up all ships from one space and sowing them Mancala-style around the board. Ships falling into black holes are lost forever. The game ends when a player loses all their ships. Additional rules add depth, such as sowing larger ships first and using special chips for extra moves.
Who Is This Game For?
Space Walk suits hobby gamers and families with children aged 8 and up who enjoy abstract strategy games. With a playtime of about 45 minutes, it fits well into an evening game session. Beginners with some Mancala experience can easily join.
How It Works
The game uses Mancala mechanics where you pick up all spaceships from one spot and distribute them one-by-one into adjacent spaces. Ships lost in black holes are removed from the game. Ships come in three sizes that must be sown in order. Each player has three chips allowing an extra move if used. The winner is the player who still has ships remaining or scores the most points.
