In Luxor, players lead adventurer teams through the legendary Luxor temple, aiming to reach the pharaoh’s tomb while collecting treasures. The modular board changes every game, creating unique paths. Players move their characters by playing cards from their hand, triggering tile actions like collecting treasures or gaining keys. The game combines race, set collection, and dice rolling mechanics for varied gameplay.
Who Is This Game For?
Luxor suits families and casual gamers aged 8 and up who enjoy tactical race and set collection games. With a playing time around 45 minutes, it fits well into shorter game sessions. Basic experience with card and dice mechanics is helpful but not required.
How It Works
Each turn, players choose a card from either end of their hand to move an adventurer forward along the modular path, skipping empty tiles. Movement is influenced by dice rolling and roll & move mechanics. After moving, the adventurer activates the tile’s effect, such as collecting treasure sets or obtaining keys and special Horus cards. Hand management and set collection are key to winning by reaching the tomb first with valuable treasures.
