Biography

Osprey Games is the board- and card-game imprint of Osprey Publishing. The data lists 15 games and an activity span from 1973 to 2024. The publisher grew out of a long connection to the wargaming hobby and moved into standalone games and card titles in the 2010s.

Career

Originally known for military history books and wargaming guides, Osprey expanded into game publishing in the late 2000s and established Osprey Games in 2015 to broaden its list. The catalog includes traditional wargames and World War II subjects as well as card-driven and modular-board titles. Mechanically the imprint favors hand management, open drafting and deck/pool-building elements alongside end-game bonuses.

Design Style

Osprey Games blends wargame heritage with accessible card-game design. Signature elements are hand-management and draft mechanics, deck/pool construction and modular boards, often paired with clear endgame scoring.
