What to Expect

You command one of several factions and expand across a modular hex-based galaxy centered on Mecatol Rex. Games combine exploration, warfare, trade and political agendas; the board is created from many hex tiles so no two sessions are identical. Rounds start with selecting strategy cards that set turn order and special actions, then you move fleets, claim planets and participate in council votes.

Who Is This Game For?

Aimed at experienced gamers and 4X fans: Twilight Imperium is complex and demands long play sessions. With a duration around 480 minutes it suits groups willing to invest a full game day. Prior experience with deep strategy and negotiation-heavy titles is useful.

How It Works

Each round players pick Strategy Cards that determine turn order and grant unique abilities. Movement and combat happen on a hexagon grid (Grid Movement/Hexagon Grid) and use Dice Rolling for conflict resolution. The game layers Area-Impulse sequencing with Action Drafting choices and includes negotiation and agenda voting phases that shift the political landscape. Victory is achieved by completing objectives over the course of the game.

It was a Golden Geek nominee in 2017 for Best Strategy and Best Thematic Board Game. The modular hex tiles and distinct factions provide high replayability.
