Start for freeWhat to Expect
You play as a team of specialists traveling point-to-point on a world map, treating outbreaks and researching cures for four diseases. The campaign unfolds across multiple monthly scenarios; each month gives you two attempts to meet objectives. As you progress, new rules and permanent changes are introduced—cards get marked or removed and characters gain or lose abilities.
Who Is This Game For?
For experienced cooperative players who enjoy long-form campaigns; minimum age is 13. With 2–4 players it suits couples or small groups willing to commit to a multi-session campaign. If you prefer one-off games, this Legacy format may not be for you.
How It Works
The game uses mechanics like Cooperative Game, Hand Management, Action Points and Point to Point Movement: each player gets four actions per turn to move, treat disease, trade cards or research cures at research stations. After actions, players draw cards that can trigger epidemics and outbreaks, spreading disease further. The Legacy/Campaign mechanics introduce permanent changes and new components over time.
What Makes It Special
Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 combines the familiar Pandemic framework with a Legacy campaign; designers Rob Daviau and Matt Leacock lead this transformation. The game won Golden Geek Best Innovative Board Game in 2015, highlighting its innovative approach within the Pandemic family.
