What to Expect

You play as covert CIA agents in 1962 investigating a Soviet bioweapon called Project MEDUSA. The game blends cooperative play, hand management and action points while you complete mission-based scenarios on a global map. As a Legacy campaign, decisions and outcomes introduce permanent changes that affect future sessions. The focus is on narrative-driven scenarios and campaign progression rather than traditional pandemic management.

Who Is This Game For?

Aimed at experienced cooperative and Legacy players, including fans of the Pandemic series. The 14+ age recommendation and ~60-minute playtime point to medium complexity suitable for groups willing to commit to a multi-session campaign.

How It Works

Season 0 uses Legacy and campaign mechanics alongside Action Points, Hand Management, and Point-to-Point Movement to resolve objectives in different cities. Players coordinate actions to neutralize enemy agents, position operatives, and complete mission goals. Each completed scenario can introduce new rules and permanent changes that shape later months of the campaign. Team coordination and scenario planning are central to success.

What Makes It Special

Designed by Rob Daviau and Matt Leacock, Pandemic Legacy: Season 0 is an official prequel in the Pandemic family and applies the Legacy format to a Cold-War spy theme. It received multiple 2020 nominations, including Golden Geek Best Cooperative Game (nominee) and Cardboard Republic Immersionist Laurel (nominee). The campaign-driven spy setting differentiates it from other Pandemic titles.
