In Khet, two players take turns moving mirrored Egyptian-themed pieces on a grid. After each move, players activate their laser, which reflects off the mirrors on pieces across the board. The goal is to direct the laser beam to hit the opponent’s Pharaoh and eliminate it. The game blends tactical movement with a physical laser element, requiring foresight and adaptation to the opponent’s moves.
Who Is This Game For?
Khet is designed for two players aged 9 and up and is a medium-weight game with a quick playtime of about 20 minutes. It requires no deep prior experience but offers tactical depth for fans of abstract strategy games. Its short duration suits players who enjoy fast, intense duels.
How It Works
Players alternate moving their pieces on a grid (Grid Movement). Some pieces have mirrors that reflect the laser beam. After each move, the player's laser is activated, and the beam bounces off mirrored sides of pieces. If the laser hits a non-mirrored side of a piece, that piece is removed. The objective is to hit the opponent’s Pharaoh while protecting your own.
