You engage in a secret alien invasion of Pleasantville, with one player controlling the aliens trying to covertly take over the town, and the other player defending it. The game has 12 turns where players move pieces on a map representing the town, using bluff and misdirection to hide alien-controlled citizens. Random townsperson movement simulates daily life, adding tension between strategy and deception.
Who Is This Game For?
This game is for two players aged 12 and up who enjoy wargames with strategic bluffing. It is a medium complexity game lasting around 45 minutes, suitable for those who prefer quick, tactical head-to-head matches. Prior experience with Area Movement and bluff mechanics is helpful.
How It Works
The game uses Area Movement with two identical sets of cardboard chits, one marked to indicate alien control. The Alien player uses bluff to conceal which townspeople are controlled, swapping real and alien-controlled pieces. The Town player moves citizens to detect and fight the alien invasion. Each turn involves moving pieces across the Pleasantville map to either defeat the aliens or complete the invasion.
