Players navigate ships across a modular hex board representing islands and sea in the Aegean. They complete twelve tasks set by Zeus, such as collecting and delivering colored offerings or defeating monsters. Each turn, players roll three colored oracle dice that determine their available actions. Players have three actions per turn to move, fulfill tasks, and seek divine favor, with some room to push their luck and influence fate.
Who Is This Game For?
The Oracle of Delphi is aimed at experienced gamers aged 12 and up who enjoy complex strategic challenges with dice elements. With a playtime of about 100 minutes, it requires focus and planning. Familiarity with engine-building and resource management games helps, as it combines multiple mechanics requiring tactical decisions.
How It Works
Each player controls a ship moving over a variable hex grid (Modular Board, Grid Movement). At the start of each turn, players roll three colored dice (Dice Rolling) that dictate which actions they can perform. With three action points per turn, players pick up and deliver offerings, defeat monsters, and complete tasks (Pick-up and Deliver, Action Points), while having the option to push their luck (Push Your Luck) to gain better outcomes.
