Start for freeWhat to Expect
In Kalah, you play on a board with two rows of six pits each, distributing seeds counterclockwise. You capture seeds by strategic sowing and aim to collect more than your opponent. The game ends when one player has no seeds left on their side, making timing and planning critical.
Who Is This Game For?
Kalah suits fans of abstract strategy games and is a light to medium complexity title ideal for quick sessions of around 10 minutes. It is suitable for ages 5 and up and requires no prior experience, making it family-friendly.
How It Works
The game uses the Mancala mechanic: players pick up all seeds from one pit and distribute them one by one in their own pits and store (Kalah), but not in the opponent's store. Landing the last seed in an empty own pit captures the opposite pit's seeds. Landing the last seed in your store grants an extra turn. The game ends when one side is empty.
What Makes It Special
