In Auf Teufel komm raus, players bet on how much value the active player will reveal from hidden coal pieces without uncovering devils. The active player pushes their luck by revealing pieces one by one, risking losing all if a devil appears. Betting and bluffing among players adds tension and strategic guessing throughout the game.
Who Is This Game For?
This game is designed for families and players aged 10 and up who enjoy light, quick games. With a playtime around 40 minutes, it fits well into casual gaming sessions. Prior experience with betting or push-your-luck mechanics is helpful but not required.
How It Works
At setup, 48 coal pieces with values between 10 and 100 and nine devil pieces are placed face down. Before each turn, all players secretly bet poker chips on the value the active player will reach. Then the active player reveals coal pieces one by one, choosing to stop anytime to keep points. Revealing a devil causes loss of all points gained that round. Scores are tracked on a scoring track, and the goal is to exceed 1600 total points.
