In Qin, players colonize the Chinese hinterland by placing tiles on a grid. Each tile shows two landscapes, and players create territories by connecting at least two identical landscape spaces. You can expand your territories, take over opponents', and place pagodas. The first to place all their pagodas on the board wins.
Who Is This Game For?
Qin is suitable for families and enthusiasts interested in abstract strategy games. With a playtime around 30 minutes, it fits well into shorter sessions and is accessible for players aged 8 and up. The game requires tactical thinking but has approachable rules.
How It Works
Each turn, you select one of three tiles from your hand and place it on the board grid. Tiles depict two landscapes that form territories when connected. Using Area Majority and Enclosure mechanics, you control or expand territories. After placing a tile, you draw a new one. Controlling territories allows you to place pagodas, aiming to be first to place all yours.
