In Pyramid of Pengqueen, one player is the Mummy trying to catch tomb raiders, while others secure treasures from the pyramid. The vertical magnetic board hides the tomb raiders from the Mummy. Raiders move by dice rolls trying to evade the Mummy, who deduces their positions using dice results and color-coded treasure cards. Bluffing and memory play key roles.
Who Is This Game For?
This game targets families with children aged 8 and up and is designed as a children's game. With a playtime of about 45 minutes, it fits shorter sessions. It requires little prior experience but suits players who enjoy deduction and memory challenges.
How It Works
One player controls the Mummy with hidden movement on a magnetic pyramid, while tomb raiders move based on dice rolls. The Mummy uses dice results and treasure card colors to guess raider positions. If the Mummy lands on a raider, that raider loses life points and is temporarily eliminated. The Mummy wins by accumulating life points, raiders by securing treasures.
What Makes It Special
Pyramid of Pengqueen combines Hidden Movement with Memory and Player Elimination mechanics. It was nominated for Golden Geek Best Children's Board Game in 2009. Designer Marcel-André Casasola Merkle created an asymmetrical game with unusual vertical magnetic components.
