In Arkham Express, up to four players cooperate to gather clues, fight monsters, and close gates before too many open. Players choose characters with special abilities and roll dice representing movement, combat, healing, and monster symbols. Rolling three monster symbols opens new gates and spawns monsters. The goal is to close all six gates and defeat the Great Old One.
Who Is This Game For?
Suitable for gamers aged 10 and up who enjoy quick cooperative adventures. With a playtime of about 10 minutes, it fits short sessions or as an introduction. Some prior experience with dice games helps but is not required.
How It Works
Arkham Express uses action points and cooperative gameplay with dice rolling. Players roll five dice with unique symbols, locking monster symbols while rerolling others up to three times. They spend movement points, clues, and combat symbols strategically to close gates and fight monsters. A solo mode is included for solo play.
What Makes It Special
Designed by David Willems and nominated for the 2011 Golden Geek Best Print & Play Board Game. Inspired by Felbrigg Herriot’s Dune Express, it offers a fast-paced, thematic dice game set in the Cthulhu Mythos.
