What to Expect

In Polarity, players carefully balance magnetic discs on a cloth, creating stacks that teeter precariously. Each turn involves placing a magnetized piece so that opposing poles repel, requiring both strategy and fine motor skills. The board fills with discs angled at 45 degrees, and any misstep can cause pieces to fall or form towers, which score points. The tension between physics and tactics makes each game dynamic and engaging.

Who Is This Game For?

Polarity suits players aged 8 and up who enjoy abstract strategy combined with physical dexterity. With a short playtime of about 20 minutes, it's ideal for families and casual gamers. The rules are straightforward but mastering the magnetic balancing adds an extra layer of challenge.

How It Works

Each player has a stack of magnetic discs in their color. The game starts with several foundation pieces placed on the cloth. On your turn, you take a disc from your stack and carefully place it so that its magnetic polarity repels the foundation piece, balancing it in midair. If a piece falls or forms a tower, your turn ends. Towers score points at the end, and the goal is to be the first to play all your discs.
