Start for freeWhat to Expect
Played on a circular board with perfect information, each player starts with six pieces of two types plus four additional 'free' pieces. On your turn, you have two moves: either move two different pieces once or one piece twice. Pieces can jump over friendly or enemy pieces but only in straight lines. A piece is eliminated if at turn's end it is adjacent to two opponent pieces. The goal is to reduce the opponent's free pieces to one.
Who Is This Game For?
Occhio! targets fans of abstract strategy games and is considered a medium-weight game. Designed exclusively for two players aged 10 and up, the game lasts about 60 minutes, making it suitable for an evening play session. Prior experience with abstract games is helpful due to lack of random elements.
How It Works
The core mechanic is Point to Point Movement on a circular board. Each turn you move pieces either twice with one piece or once with two pieces. Jumping over pieces is allowed in straight lines. Pieces are eliminated if flanked by two opponent pieces at the end of a turn, creating tactical depth through movement and positioning.
