In Skull, players bluff by placing cards face down and bid on how many rose cards they can reveal without hitting a skull. Players take turns raising bids until someone challenges and attempts to reveal cards. If successful twice, a player wins. The game emphasizes poker face and reading opponents rather than luck.
Who Is This Game For?
Skull is a medium-weight game suitable for players who enjoy bluffing and bidding mechanics. With a playtime around 45 minutes, it fits casual game nights. No extensive experience is needed, but it’s recommended for ages 10 and up. It suits groups who like social interaction and risk assessment.
How It Works
Each player places a face-down card and can bid on how many rose cards they think they can safely reveal (Predictive Bid, Auction / Bidding). Other players can overbid (Auction: Turn Order Until Pass). The highest bidder then reveals cards, starting with their own hand (Hand Management). Revealing a skull causes the player to lose a card (Player Elimination). Two successful challenges win the game.
What Makes It Special
