One player takes the role of the sorcerer hiding a key on the board, while the other players collectively play Robin trying to find it. Movement is determined by dice rolls, and the key is magnetized, producing a sound when passed over. The player who finds the key attempts to unlock one of the six locks to free the princess. If unsuccessful, the search restarts.
Who Is This Game For?
Designed for 2 to 4 players aged five and up, this game is a light family game with a short playtime of about 25 minutes. Its simple rules make it accessible for young children and families with limited prior gaming experience.
How It Works
The game uses Dice Rolling and Roll / Spin and Move mechanics. Each turn, a symbol die shows which character moves first, while a number die determines movement spaces. Players navigate the board to find the magnetized key, which signals when crossed. Finding the key allows an attempt to open the correct lock to win; otherwise, the key is hidden again and play restarts.
What Makes It Special
Designed by Inka and Markus Brand, The Enchanted Tower won the 2013 Kinderspiel des Jahres award. Its unique magnetized key component adds a tactile and auditory element to gameplay, distinguishing it from other children’s dice games.
