What to Expect

In Blockade, each player controls two pawns on an 11x14 square grid and places walls to block the opponent. The goal is to move one pawn into the opponent's starting area. Each turn allows moving a pawn up to two spaces and placing a vertical or horizontal wall that covers two squares. The game demands tactical planning and careful barrier placement to outmaneuver your opponent.

Who Is This Game For?

Blockade is a short, 20-minute game for two players aged 8 and up. It suits players who enjoy abstract strategy games with direct competition and simple yet deep tactics. Prior experience with similar abstract games helps but is not mandatory.

How It Works

Players start with two pawns each in opposite corners of an 11x14 square grid. On a turn, you move one pawn up to two spaces (Point to Point Movement) and place a wall blocking two squares either vertically or horizontally. Walls must be placed according to their color code. After all walls are used, players continue moving pawns until one reaches the opponent’s starting area.

What Makes It Special
