You play in the late 26th century as one of four ideological Paths trying to rebuild after a cataclysm. The game uses a dynamic timeline where powering Time Rifts lets you send resources to your past self. Gameplay includes equipping specialists with exosuits, managing contracts and reacting to events while trying to avert a looming asteroid catastrophe.
Who Is This Game For?
Aimed at experienced eurogamers (min age 15) who enjoy long, strategic sessions — typical playtime is about 120 minutes. A solo mode exists, and 2–4 players provide strong interaction on the timeline. Prior experience with engine-building or complex euros is helpful.
How It Works
Anachrony features a two-tiered worker-placement-like approach combined with Contracts, Dice Rolling and Events. Players place specialists, use Exosuits to enable actions and power Time Rifts to affect earlier turns; the number of turns is variable depending on the cataclysm. Icon resolution and End Game Bonuses shape tactical and strategic choices over the game.
What Makes It Special
Designed by Dávid Turczi, Richard Ámann and Viktor Péter. In 2017 Anachrony received multiple nominations, including Golden Geek Best Strategy Board Game (nominee, 2017). Its distinct mix of timeline/time-rift mechanics with tableau-style planning sets it apart from standard economic euros.
